One day interactive workshop. Animal Activities Licensing (AAL) regulations were enacted on 1st October 2018.  The following businesses are required to hold at minimum a nationally accredited Level 2 qualification such as this at the point of new or renewed licensing: –

  • Commercial Dog Boarding – Kennels
  • Commercial Cat Boarding – Catteries
  • Commercial Home Boarding
  • Commercial Dog Day Care
  • Commercial Pet Vending
  • Commercial Dog Breeding
  • Animal Exhibits

Attendees need to hold a level 2 qualification in animal-related area, such as: –

  • Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care
  • Level 2 Technical Certificate in Animal Care
  • Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Animal Care
  • Level 2 Diploma in Equine Care
  • Level 2 Diploma in Agriculture
  • Level 2 Certificate of Technical Competence in Animal Health, Husbandry and Handling

Certification on course completion

The certificate requires participation in a theory and practical workshop. Knowledge will be assessed through homework prior to the assessment day, oral questioning and practical observation.
