However, for the qualification to be achieved at the end of the training program you are required to hold a minimum level of English and Maths (usually Functional skills level 1). Heavenlyz will provide you with a mentor to help you achieve this during your training.
Level 3 Diploma requires the apprentice to hold a minimum GCSE grade C math and English or Functional skills level
Who would this apprenticeship suit
This qualification is suited to a person whom wishes to work within a veterinary nurse assistant, dog Boarding and rescue, cattery, small petting farm or other animal care environment and will form part of the Apprenticeship framework for Animal care.
It is a 100% work based, approximately 12-month training program, competence-qualification with Heavenlyz bringing the mentor, tutor and assessor to you in your workplace, with no need to go on day release at a college (preferential for young people who do not thrive in a class room environment).
The apprenticeship qualification will reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do the job effectively within an animal care environment.
You will need to have a strong love for animals and have a friendly and enthusiastic nature to be able to deliver natural friendly customer care. The role requires you to be on your feet all day and at times is very labour intensive with lots of manual handling. You may be required to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions, so a love for the outdoors is desirable especially if working on a small petting farm, boarding kennels, cattery or other rescue facility. The hours may require you to work on Bank Holidays including Christmas day and you must be prepared to enjoy cleaning, as where there are animals and human visitors there is a lot of mess to clean up!
